Paisley road closed after person knocked down by car

Emergency services raced to the scene in Paisley after a person was knocked down by a car.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at Renfrew Road at around 6.45pm on Saturday following the incident.

The road was closed for several hours while officers carried out investigations.

The condition of the person who was knocked down is not yet known.

The incident follows a number of road crashes in the area in recent weeks.

Last month, a man was seriously injured in a crash on the M8 near Paisley.

And earlier this month, a woman was killed in a crash on the A737 near Houston.
